I am gradually researching and bringing together not only sashiko techniques and patterns, but also the history, everyday life, textiles, and clothing that form its background in Japan.

When and where did sashiko begin?
Rather than looking only for a single origin story, I read historical books and records from Japan and trace sashiko alongside the everyday lives of the people who made, wore, repaired, and reused cloth.
